This Is Why I Do Do Digis...

I know some stampers don't like to use digistamps and feel that they are 'cheating' - but I don't agree. I just see rubber/clear stamps and digital images as two different mediums, each with their own advantages.

For me, the big advantage of using digis is the ability to resize, which makes them so versatile. Here, I printed this A Day for Daisies digital image very large and cropped a third of it away. I shaded him with a grey Promarker and paper- pieced his clothes. I made a border with a Martha Stewart punch and stamped (physical stamps this time) the sentiment using an Avery Elle set.
So here I used the same digi, but this time sized small, duplicated and some of them flipped to mirror each other . I coloured them with Promarkers, stamped a Penny Black sentiment and embossed it with a Taylored Expressions embossing folder.

I'd like to enter the first (paper-pieced) card into:

Pro-Am Showdown # 17 - Up on the Roof

It's the ninth of December and I still haven't achieved the goals of my self-imposed challenge , Pro-Am Showdown,  where I CASE a mass-produced card to make my own, amateur version. I'd better ramp up my productivity if I don't want to have an epic fail!

Here's the card I cased:
The professional version
For my amateur version I used a Little Claire stamp, which I heat embossed in silver on a navy cardstock. I coloured the scene with Polychromos pencils, which I'm not very good with  tbh, but I felt the colouring looked better after went over it with a Spectrum Noir clear shimmer pen.

The Night Before Christmas

Here's a card inspired by some challenges. The santa and verse stamps were from a magazine freebie set (years ago), the holly is an old Hero Arts stamp and I used glossy drops, glitter glue and shimmer pen.

City Crafter Challenge Blog - Where did you get that hat?

This week at City Crafter, I'm challenging you to feature a hat on your project.

For my DT project I used a digi by Mo's Digital Pencil, which I coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment was also in the set and I noticed the little dots around the L and the S and decided to put little dots onto his clothes. Then I added snow using a stencil and white embossing powder.

We look forward to seeing your projects for this challenge and I hope you'll go over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have made.

I used this sketch...

Not for the first time, I made a card specifically for a challenge and am now worried about whether it fits the challenge at all.

I used this sketch from Case this Sketch

Well, I think it matches the sketch but...is it cas???

Anyway, it's another Christmas card to add to my stack ( must get on to writing and sending them!) .

I used Paper Artsy stamps, Distress Inks for the background and a Martha Stewart punch.

Jolly Penguin

Last one for today .... I want to enter some challenges and some of them are coming towards the end...

Here I used a penguin stamp by Woodware,  It is quite a big stamp, so I just stamped the top half of it.

Actually this was going to be a one-layer- card but after I had stamped it and coloured it I realised I'd stamped it on the wrong side of the card base! (It was a tent fold card, so if you stood it up he'd be hanging down from the crease.)

I coloured him with Promarkers and gold Nuvo glitter pen. I also used clear shimmer pen on the white bits of his hat so it's all quite glittery. The sentiments are Mama Elephant.

I'd like to enter:

Custom- Mix Embossing Powder

I'm a big fan of Vicki Pappaioannou, and I enjoyed her recent video using embossing powder mixes to make backgrounds. Unfortunately, Stampendous did not send me any of their embossing enamels to try, so I had to make my own. I just mixed together different embossing powders of various colours and textures. It was really fun.

For my 'young polar bear' card, the stamp is a very old one by Anita's - I shaded it with a Promarker - and the sentiment is Hero Arts.

I'd like to enter this card into:
Use Your Stuff  heat embossing
Crafters Cafe embossing
CAS Mix Up  stamping and alcohol marker and embossing powder

Here's a second card using the same powder mix. This time the image is by Magenta and the sentiment Hero Arts.

Elfies

Do you enjoy teasing your siblings?

My brother works for a cleaning company and I recently found out that, much to his embarrassment, the company has the word 'elves' in its name.
This one-layer Christmas card is for him.

From a Memory Box set, I stamped the frame, masked off the bottom and stamped the elf inside. I coloured it with Promarkers and green glitter pen. The sentiment is Penny Black.

Of course, now I've teased my brother, I'll have to put up with him teasing me.
